Donathan's finals match was electric and he won it in the last seconds over a returning 2x State Champion from St. Edwards High School. Chris started the match by knocking himself and his opponent, Bryce Andonian, out of the ring, off the mat and nearly off the raised platform they were wrestling on. The initial grapple set the tone for a free-wheeling, back-and-forth match that was decided when Donathan got Andonian to turn over late in the third period to pull out a come-from-behind 6-5 win. The win had a revenge factor for Chris, as he had lost to Adonian earlier in the season.

BOYS BOWLING SEASON ENDS AT DISTRICT The Mason Boys Bowling team had a terrific day, bowling some of their best games of the year at Thursday's District Tournament at Beaver-Vu. They had a little struggle in the first individual game but came back very strong in the second game bowling their personal best of the season. The Comets bowled over 1100 for the first time this year and vaulted up 6 spots, from 10th to 4th overall. The third game was back to average and they fell to 6th place.
With only 2 teams advancing they needed to knock out one of the teams ahead of them. The boys bowled very well averaging over 200 per Baker game (team games).
Even though the boys bowled very well they were not able to gain any ground on a very easy shot. All teams in the top 5 remained in the top 5 and Mason remained in 6th place.
Kian Encarnacion was the top Mason bowler with a fantastic 695 three game series. He was the best version of himself all day. Kian gave himself the best chance he could to move on but with such a favorable shot, he fell short of his goal. He managed an 11th place and for the first time in recent memory, a 695 did not go to state. Congratulations to all the players and coaches on a Great Season for Mason Boys Bowling! |
